In this project, we worked in groups of 3-4 to analyze how people walk. We used this app called "physics toolbox" on a smartphone to help determine the movement of each body tested. We also measured certain body parts such as leg length, stride length, height, and numerous steps we took. These measurements helped us reach our conclusion and prove our hypothesis was correct. Our conclusion was that people who are taller, take fewer steps but gain more ground by taking bigger steps than short people, along with having more force within each step.
Context:
Force: Can cause a object with mass to change its velocity
Gait: A person's manner of walking
G-force: Force acting on the body as a result of acceleration or gravity
Residual: Not accounted for or eliminated(error)
Abstract: Summary of the contents of book, article, etc
Appendix: Section or table of additional matter at the end of a book or document
Conclusion: I enjoyed working with my group(Reema, Hayden, and Wilson) but we could've communicated much better than we originally did. Although we lost Hayden due to him working on the OP-51 plane that has been going on for years, we didn't keep him updated with the project. However, we didn't have any disagreements with our decision makings, though we should've gone into more depth with this. We didn't plan things super well especially because Hayden was out and I was out from time to time due to leadership. This doesn't mean we couldn't have juggled our jobs and multitasked our stuff, this was possible to be complete and be a much better project outcome than it was. Thankfully, we completed the project on time, presented to the class and got good feedback.
